Submitting a Complaint

Complaints may be submitted in two ways:

1.)  By telephone to the officer in charge at Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service at 519-245-1250 or in person at the police headquarters, 299 Frances St., Strathroy N7G 4G9.

2.)  Directly through the Law Enforcement Complaints Agency (LECA). Any member of the public may make a complaint to LECA by:

• e-filing it on the LECA website at www.leca.ca/complaints;
• Email: Print and complete the LECA complaint form (PDF[239kB]), scan it and send it as an attachment to: lecacomplaints@ontario.ca
• Fax: Completed forms can be faxed to LECA at:
• Toll-free fax: 1-877-415-4773
• Local fax: 416-327-8332

• Mail: Completed forms can be mailed to the Law Enforcement Complaints Agency:

  655 Bay Street, 10th Floor
  Toronto, Ontario
  M7A 2T4

• submitting in person at the Law Enforcement Complaints Agency;
• submitting in person at any municipal, regional, or provincial police station in Ontario, regardless of whether it had jurisdiction over the location where the incident occurred.

Please note:

• complaints made beyond the six-month time limit prescribed by the Police Services Act will be considered for investigation on a case-by-case basis by the LECA;
• anonymous complaints will not be accepted by the LECA.
